AMIN JOINS A MASS RALLY TO OUST USM PRESIDENT
Around 300 to 500 multi-stakeholders led by USMMMTJ – University of Southern Mindanao Multi-Stakeholders Movement for Truth and Justice together with Anak Mindanao Party List gathered outside the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office and the Office of Ombudsman in Quezon City this morning, February 1 to demand for the ouster of University of Southern Mindanao (USM) President JESUS ANTONIO G. DERIJE. Another rally was simultaneously conducted in Davao City by the same group. It was been reported that despite multiple cases filed and pending for prosecution in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Ombudsman and other courts against Derije, he was extended re-appointment by the Board of Regents of USM on their meeting on January 4, 2013 at Metro Manila. Derije violated about three (3) counts the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Law as charged before the DOJ by the Watch-North Cotabato involving several millions of pesos. Moreover, he was also criminally accused by Blang Waguia, et al before the Ombudsaman, Davao City for another violations of Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Law. Likewise, Derije also illegally leased vast irrigated rice-lands for more than ten (10) million pesos to a private individual without the approval of the BOR.
